Platt kayak, Gairloch
Mick and Karen joined me for a nice morning exploring the craggy coastline at Gairloch. They were quite keen to see an otter, luckily for them one popped up running around the shoreline just before the end of the session!

Dillon, Scott and Kyle joined me for a fun time kayaking. They’d been out with me before one August, the water was a wee bit chillier this time but it didn’t take any of the fun away.
Mat, Rebecca, Suzy and Lexie joined me on the water in Poolewe. We had a fun session paddling around the coastline with a few very curious seals following us about. As we sat on a remote beach with a brew an otter put on a display for us by swimming past our boats.
Alex, Natalie, Robbie, Hannah, Frank, Caz, Alice and Oliver all joined me for a fun afternoon on the water. Some of them have been coming out with me for a good few years, so they knew what to expect.
Kath and Richard joined me on a sunny morning to explore the craggy coastline around Inverewe Garden. October can have some stunning weather!
Karen, Donald, Lewis and Cailcan met me in Poolewe to learn some skills, spot some wildlife and have a bit of fun.
Emily, Fraser, Sophie and James all met me for an afternoon of fun kayaking at Gairloch. As we paddled about watching seals they watched us.
Ben, Dawn, Evangeline and Dexter joined me for some fun on the water. I hadn’t managed to put them off when they came to the climbing wall earlier on in the week.
Kay, Ken, Kirsty and Emma met me to explore the coastline around Kerry bay, spotting seals as we went.
Tanya and David joined me again for another session on the water, this time before the rest of their family join them up here, so it was a nice peaceful morning!
Allan, Rhona, Duncan, Isla and Kirsty all joined me on a sunny afternoon to have some fun on the water. We explored the coastline whilst playing games and spotting seals.
Val and John joined me for a very calm and sunny paddle around Inverewe garden. The sea surface was so calm it was easy to gaze down at the seaweed and wildlife below.
Suzanne and Brian joined me again for another session on the water. They had hoped to get out a couple of times with me but sadly due to the windy weather we’ve been having recently we only managed one trip. It was nice seeing some coastline that they’ve not paddled before, exploring Boor Rocks as we went past.
Rachel, James and Paul joined me to get out in sea kayaks. Rachel has her own sea kayak but her brothers haven’t kayaked before, so they were keen to get out and see why she likes it so much.
Mollie and Mick joined me for a morning paddling around the coastline at Inverewe Garden. We improved our paddling strokes as we paddled past seals and herons.
Scott joined me on a breezy morning to get out in the sea kayaks. We found a nice sheltered spot to learn some skills and explore the coastline.
Sam, Simon, Katie and Nathan all joined me for a gentle paddle to explore the coastline around Inverewe and the seabed below it. It was a great adventure to celebrate Sam’s birthday.
Sara and Andy live over in Beauly and are thinking of getting themselves some kayaks. We headed out with a sit on top kayak and a sea kayak to test them out and see which ones they liked the most. The verdict – well, they like both styles of boats and still don’t know, but at least they now have a much better idea about them and can make more of an informed decision.
