Wilson kayak, Poolewe

Toby, Anna, Arthur, Fred, Evie and Annabelle all met me for a fun afternoon of kayaking. The weather forecast had predicted some lightening but we decided to go ahead with the plan of hopping off the water for shelter if it arrived. As predicted it arrived and we sheltered off the water with a nice brew before jumping back on for more fun.
Robinson Goodrum canoe, Poolewe

John, Anne, Steve and Morven came canoeing with me from Poolewe. John has done quite a bit of canoeing in the past and wanted to have a trip out with the rest of them whist up here. They’d been out paddleboarding the day before with Charlie from ClimbRideExplore, so had already started getting used to paddling skills.
Masterson Tobin kayak, Gairloch

Kat, Jon, Callum and Euan came out with me last year, this year they dragged along Cathy, Declan, Iarlaith and Ruadhan to help celebrate Callum’s 9th birthday with me. A fun session in the sunshine was had by all. Since it was Callum’s birthday I thought a good way to celebrate it was to leave him on a tiny island – apparently it’s against kids rights to leave them on slightly submerged islands for any real length of time, so we collected him again.

Greig kayak, Gairloch

Kyle, Gillion and Colin joined me to explore the coastline in kayaks. They chose the sea kayaks and we set off to learn some skills and see what wildlife we could spot on our journey. Initially the water was mirror like and we could easily gaze down though the water at starfish, urchins and jellyfish below us.
