Alastair and Richard were exploring the west coast in a camper van and they wanted to see it all from a different perspective.

Richard, Kelly and Cale joined me again for another session, their last being back in 2017. This time we headed out on the sit on top kayaks to explore the coastline from Gairloch harbour, as we paddled we spotted a white tailed eagle swooping down to the sea.

Jane and Davide joined me again for another session in the sea kayaks. This time we set off from Gairloch harbour and explored the bay.

Claire, James, Eleanor and Sylvie met me to have a fun afternoon on the water in canoes. Despite the light drizzle at one point everyone went away wanting to do more.

Rose, Jim and Andy joined me for a morning exploring in the sea kayaks. We paddled around the shore of Inverewe Garden and estate, finding a remote beach along the coast line to have our morning brew on.

Charlotte and Justin took time off from their NC500 trip to have an adventure on the water. We had a lovely calm sea to explore, almost mirror like.

Inga and Shona joined me again, this time bringing along Lou, to paddle around the craggy coastline from Poolewe. Some friendly inquisitive seals came to see us as we paddled by.

Pete, Caroline, Tom, Lily and Flora all joined me for a fun afternoon in the sun with the canoes. We explored the coastline before finding a sunny beach to have hot chocolate and biscuits on.

Elizabeth, Andy and Ben joined me on a sunny morning to explore the coastline on the sit on top kayaks. This was part of Elizabeth’s surprise birthday present – doing the NC500 and not knowing what’s coming next. She didn’t know we were kayaking until I turned up!

Karen, Carl, Issie, Lily, Ben and Jamie all joined me for an afternoon kayaking. We learnt some skills before exploring the coastline around Kerry Bay. A curious seal swam along with us to see what we were up to. Five minutes before getting off the water Jamie couldn’t resist taking a dip!

Phil and Tim were up again and keen to get out in canoes again. They’ve got their own kayaks up with them and having been exploring the lochs. Canoes are very different to kayaks, taking a lot more skill to control them whilst paddling solo. Despite not paddling canoes since last time they were out with me they were paddling well after a little bit of a recap on strokes.

Sue and Stuart joined me today on Stuart’s birthday. What better thing to do on your birthday than paddle around on the glorious Loch Ewe with me!

John, Alex, Andrew, Amy and David spent the afternoon paddling around Mellon Charles with me. John and Alex had joined me a couple of years ago when they were last in the area. The wind gave us a few waves to have fun on as we explored.

Freddie and Emily joined me on a very still morning in Poolewe to explore the coastline and spot wildlife. Exploring the NC500 from the water is the perfect addition to anyone’s NC500 adventure.

Martin and Jaine joined me to explore the coastline around Inverewe. They’ve got their own canoe but didn’t bring it all the way up here from Devon. The initial wind calmed down and gave us a lovely afternoon on the water.

Allison and Will joined me again for yet another paddle. We set off from Mellon Charles and headed with the wind around the coastline to finish in Poolewe. On route we stopped off on a couple of remote beaches for brews and relaxing in the sunshine.

Jason and Rachel joined me again for another session on the water, a few years since our last adventure. We headed around the craggy coastline of Inverewe garden and estate, finding a remote beach to stop at and have our brew break.

Richard and Lynn joined me on a stunning afternoon to explore the loch. When we stopped on a beach for our brew a young seal enjoyed watching us from the water.
