Briggs paddle, Poolewe
Iain, Helena, Amelie, Matthew and Edward spent a morning in boats with me on Loch Ewe. Eddie jumped into my boat to help me with my paddling. Apparently lounging back in my boat is a great help!

Kevin, Emily, Elowen and Branok spent an afternoon with me.
Kevin and Emily have been paddling with me before, both on the sea and doing a series of self rescue sessions in the swimming pool.
They bought their own boats and wanted to practice some self rescue skills with their kids.
Both Elowen and Branock coped well with the cold water, keen to go back in to practice multiple times!
Colin, Lorna, Eva and Jamie spent a grey but fantastic morning with me on the water from Poolewe. Greyness doesn’t stop fun!
Paul, Jemima, Kirsten, Ailsa and Rory joined me for another session on the water. They’d had such a good time the last two times they’d been out with me they came back for a third!
I’d had to cancel on them earlier on in the week because of a mountain rescue callout, but I managed to fit them in for an evening session. Great to see them again!
Michael and Michelle paddled with me from Poolewe. We spent some time with the seals at Camas Glas.
Sarah, Ian, Callum, Harriet, Lydia and Phoebe explored the coastline by Inverewe Garden on a sunny morning.
Daniel and Saga spent a great evening with me, paddling around the craggy and rugged coastline from Gairloch harbour.
Michaela, Abhijeet, Swapnil and Silvia spent an afternoon with me and a pile of seals. As we paddled around the rocky coastline we had plenty of seals watch us as we watched them!
Andrew and Nadine spent the afternoon with me in kayaks from Gairloch harbour. Grey skies but a lovely morning on the water with the seals!
Aspen and Ian had an atmospheric day on the water, ‘the grey skies really bring out the vibrant colours of the boats’ – one of the many positives about paddling when it’s a wee bit gloomy!
Guy, Beryl, Emily, Fraser and Ewan spent another session with me. After having such a good time the week before they couldn’t wait to get back out on the water for another fantastic session paddling about.
Magnus, Hannah, Gabe, Christian, Joss, Scott and Ewan joined me for a busy afternoon kayaking. When everyone’s wearing wetsuits it can’t help but get splashy!
Kelly, Jon, Emma, Joseph, Kellie, Isaac, Rubin and Dylan all joined me for a busy morning on the water. Lots of fun was had paddling about, playing games and learning skills.
Dawn had such a good time last time she persuaded Rupert, Scarlet and George to join her this time. It might have been slightly grey but that didn’t stop every ones spirits.
Scarlet has paddled with me plenty of times before during her time in the local scouts, with a 2 day descent of the Ardèche Gorge being a highlight.
Guy and Beryl had family up, so obviously they wanted to get out in kayak with them. Very different boats to the slalom kayaks that they learnt to paddle in.
Kat, Jon, Callum and Euan paddled with me from Poolewe. A fun time spent exploring the coastline, non stop smiles throughout!
Ken, Carlyn, Heather and Fiona came out to explore the coastline around Inverewe garden from kayaks. As we paddled around we had some little eyes watching us from the depths – seals are very inquisitive and love to see what we’re up to!
Fraser, Clare, Hamish, Donald and Martha met me in Poolewe for a fun morning on the water. Martha joined me in my canoe whilst the others paddled kayaks. Donald helpfully showed us all perfect capsize techniques!
