Ford Manning kayak, Gairloch
Karen and Ian spent the afternoon exploring the loch and watching the wildlife. Ian’s keen to get a boat so we spent plenty of time chatting about boats kit and safety.

Amanda, Ed, Archie and Marsaili joined me again for another session on the water. They’re looking at getting some boats so they wanted to practice rescue skills so that they can keep safe – I wasn’t just being lazy making them rescue themselves!
Alan, Cora and Aidan have been out with me a few times before and their fleet of boats is increasing. Alan has been visiting the area since he was young and has always looked across to Gruinard Island, it’s dark past makes it a tempting place to go. The island has a fantastic west coast to explores with caves, arches and wildlife. To finish the day a sea eagle flew over us.
Gabi, Mark, Sofia, Francesca and Henry enjoyed an exciting afternoon on the water. Henry and Francesca joined me in my canoe as my crew – it’s great having a crew to do all the paddling!
Chris, Allison, Evyn and Dylan explored the rugged coastline in a mixture of kayaks and canoes. Improving our paddling by playing games meant it was a fun filled session.
Emily, Sam, Alfie and Joshie had a fun filled afternoon in the water and sometimes even on the boats! Sitting watching the seals is always a fascinating thing to do.
Katie, Mhairi and Bek spent a fun morning learning kayak skills, playing games and exploring the interesting coastline.
Alasdair, Alison, Alice and Finlay spent a fun afternoon splashing about by Inverewe garden. Two of them made a bit more of a splash as they decided jumping in was a good idea!
Terina, Adrian, Iain and Andrew joined me yet again for a fun session on the water. They’ve been coming out with me on their annual holiday up here for years, always nice to see them!
Grant, Frances, Robert, Daisy, James, James, Sam and Juliet all had a great time exploring the coastline and making a splash from Poolewe.
Chris, Katie, Henry and Annie enjoyed paddling around Inverewe garden with me. Having fun learning to paddle the boats and playing games.
Jemima, Paul, Kirsten, Ailsa and Rory joined me again for another session. They’d had a great time last holiday with me, so they were keen to have more fun on the water this year!
Shona, Emma, Allan and Ryan spent a relaxing morning exploring the rugged coastline from Gairloch Harbour, close to where they were staying.
Christine, Stefan and Mia spent a relaxing afternoon exploring the coastline around Inverewe Garden. We had huge blooms of moon jellyfish with the occasional lion’s mane dotted about.
Jacqui and Gary had been out with me before and they have their own boats. They were across here with a bunch of folk doing some beach cleans around the area and they fancied a fun adventure to rewards themselves for all the hard work so they took to the water with me. After lots of sunny days we had a slightly gray and damp morning but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits as we all had a great time!
Alison, Iain, Bethan and Esme spent a morning in the glorious sunshine. Learning how to paddle the boats well and having fun as we spotted wildlife.
I had some customers have to cancel at very short notice, just as I was driving home I got a phone call from this bunch wanting to get out on the water. Kristin, Daniel, Anthony, Jessica, Lilly and Bella turned up in Poolewe to explore the scottish coastline. It’s quite a different landscape to their normal coastline over in California.
James, Joanna, Adam and Anna had a hot and sunny afternoon to explore in kayaks. The jellyfish are getting pretty big now and making a dip less inviting but they still went in for a swim to cool off!
