Mark, Ilana, Ben, Tal and Nadav were ‘enjoying’ the cooler climate Scotland has to offer from their home in Israel. We had a great time paddling around seeing the piles of seals all over the place.

Jacqui, Andrew, Hollie and Sophie joined me again for another session. They’re regular holiday makers to the area and it’s their third time out with me. Sadly my jokes haven’t changed much over the years, so they were probably bored by the same old unfunny jokes – sorry!

Jez, Khalid , Kai, Owain and Maria came out in canoes and kayaks with me. Steve and Junior chose to stay ashore instead of bob around on the water. The weather tried to dampen our spirits, but we all had a great time spotting seals, leaning skills and having fun.

Rachel, Kelly and Christina were travelling down the west coast and wanted to take a splash to see the it all a bit differently. On our trip around the craggy coastline we met a few seals to say hello to.

Amanda, Ed, Archie, Marsaili, Simon, Clare, Iona and Abigail joined me at little Loch Shieldaig for an afternoon paddling. Some of them had been out with me before, so knew what to expect, and some of them were new to Ewe Canoe sessions. We had a great session watching the seals when we had time between playing games and splashing each other!

Gabor, Adrienn, Lena and Bruno came for a canoe at Gairloch Harbour. We had a nice low tide, so were able to spend ages looking down into the shallow water, fascinated by seeing lots of interesting creatures below the surface.

Paul, Bobbie, Henry and Molly came kayaking with me on a sunny morning. As well as the seals swimming around we also spotted some large lions mane jellyfish swimming below us.

Robert and Eric joined me for an afternoon paddling. They found time on their NC500 trip to see the route from the water. They both ended up swimming at one point or another.

Sean, Claire, Owen and Duncan met me for a fun paddling session in both canoes and kayaks. Duncan went in the canoe with his folks whilst Owen was left to paddle one of my little person kayaks.

Brian and Duncan met me for their third Ewe Canoe session along with Catrona and Alasdair on their second, and Jane got her first experience of a Ewe Canoe session. We all had a good time paddling sea kayaks and sit on top boats – most folk seemed to decide they preferred the sit on top boats stability!

Laura, James, Luke and Matthew met me at my house for the short drive down to the boom beach in Mellon Charles. We had a great time paddling on both the calm gentle water by the beach and the exciting bumpy water around the corner.

Thomas, Harry and Natasha met me for a damp afternoon at Badachro. Despite the rain we had a good paddle around the area to see the sights, seals, otter and birds life.

Sam, Beth, Martha, Elsie and Zebedee met me on a slightly damp morning at Badachro. Martha and Elsie had to put up with being in my boat whilst Zebedee commanded his boat. We had a fun time paddling around to see the seals, play games and enjoy our hot chocolate on the island.

Alisa, Andrew, Grace, Molly and Craig joined me at Gairloch for a fun session paddling around the coastline. We had a great time playing games, seeing the seals and balancing on the boats.

David, Dawn, Ruairidh and Eilidh met me for the afternoon paddling trip, again from Mellon Charles. We had a great time paddling around, exploring the scenic and rocky coastline.

Michelle and Dave came for a paddle with me from Mellon Charles’s ‘Boom’ beach, a busy place back in WWII (find out more at Aultbea’s Arctic Convoy Museum). It was a sunny relaxing paddle around the rocky coastline, they then headed north on their #NC500 trip to climb some mountains.

Sophie and Dai were driving around the #NC500 for their honeymoon, they found time to see a bit of Wester Ross from the water level. I’m not sure I can think of a better thing to do on your honeymoon! They live in a village not far from where I grew up, down by the Ridgeway.

Sarah, Dom, Gracie, Toby, Olly and Lucy met me for a lively energetic trip around the craggy scenic coastline from Gairloch harbour.
