Skiffington kayak, Poolewe
Stephen, Kim, Daniel and Fergus came for a kayak around Inverewe Garden this afternoon. The sun shone down on us as we paddled around and the light wind gave our arms a work out on the paddle back.

Mark, Chris, James, Beth and Jack all met me in Poolewe for an adventure on the water. Chris and James went for a canoe whilst the others opted for kayaks. The canoe team decided to take a refreshing dip part way though, it was such a sunny warm day it almost looked inviting enough to join them!
Amanda, Ed, Archie and Marsaili joined me for another adventure on the water. We’ve been out a lot in the past and often have very very wet sessions with lots of falling in (on purpose I should add). This time we went on the sea kayaks instead of the sit on tops and explored around Eilean Horrisdale.
Katherine, Matthew and Adam met me in Badachro for an explore around the bay. John had planned to join us too but sadly he had to stay on land sorting out their cars tire. They chose the sea kayaks for a change because they’re more use to sit on tops.
Allison and Will joined me for another paddle, we’ve been most places around here over the years but had never made it over to Longa. We set off with some lumpy, bumpy waves which stayed with us around the south side of the island until we got to the north side. The wind then died back and the seas calmed to millpond levels. With a nice low tide we could spot lots of wildlife around the shoreline. It was so calm we ended up nipping around the island for a second time to explore the areas we hadn’t earlier due to the waves.
Ben, Beth, Will, Alison, Emile, Luce, Cecile and Oliver all joined me for a busy and fun afternoon on the water. We went off in a mix of sea kayaks and sit on top kayaks to improve our paddling skills, have some fun splashing about, spot some wildlife and enjoy the scenery.
Inga, Shona and Niketa joined me for a relaxing paddle around the craggy coastline of Inverewe garden. They decided on the sea kayaks and we set off to explore the area.
Jo, Mark and Billy joined me for a fun morning out in the canoes. Billy jumped in my boat and we set off around the craggy coastline of Inverewe, spotting seals and birds as we paddled around.
Matthew, Jude, Valerie, Marie, Luis and Carlos joined me for an afternoon on the water. We had very little wind so it was a very relaxing paddle around the coastline.
Sally, Pete, Hattie, Izzy, Katheryn, Andrew, Sylvie and George all met me for a busy session on the water. We headed around the coast from Gairloch harbour towards Kerry Bay, exploring the craggy coastline as we paddled along.
Hannah, Daniel, Nola, Arlo and Oscar joined me for a fun filled busy session on the water. It’s always great having little folk out on the water, Nola and Arlo in my little kayaks and Oscar jumping on the front of my two person sit on top with his dad. Hannah managed to escape the double for a bit more peace by herself!
Kay, Bob, Alec and Emily met me for a kayak session on the water around Inverewe Garden. Kay is Canadian so is a little more used to canoes but didn’t have any problems adapting to the kayak! This morning was the first time this season I’ve spotted moon jellyfish, just little ones but quite a few about.
Laura, Henry, Rachel, Katharine, Jack, Andrew and Sue all joined me for a fun session on the water. We had a good time paddling around and enjoyed watching the seals swim around watch us.
Rachel, Rob, Ava and Juliette met me in Poolewe for an enjoyable paddle around Inverewe garden. We learnt some skills, explored the coastline, spotted wildlife and had fun.
Ali, Richard, Heather and Lewis met me for a fun paddle at Gairloch harbour. We had an enjoyable paddle down to Kerry Bay, having some fun by playing games along the way.
Lee, Andy and Erin joined me to explore the craggy coastline south of Gairloch harbour. We had a headwind at times on the way out but at least that meant it blew us all the way back!
Brendan and Karen met me for a calm and relaxing paddle around Inverewe Garden. Their last kayaking trip had been on a glacier, so the 8 degree water temperature probably sounded quite warm in comparison! With the sun shining it did however feel like a nice whilst sat on the boats paddling about.
Louise, Olivier, William and Isla joined me again for another session. They’d been out with me last October on a lovely still calm day and today was very similar, practically no wind at all. We explored the coastline and found some inquisitive seals.
