Ferguson kayak, Poolewe
Rhona and Caoimhe met me for an afternoon on the water. It was a chilly and wet afternoon but that didn’t dampen our spirits.
Rhona and Caoimhe met me for an afternoon on the water. It was a chilly and wet afternoon but that didn’t dampen our spirits.
Fiona, David and Catriona joined me again, this time bringing along Deb, Pete, Ellie, William and Dom. It was a chilly day but that didn’t stop us having a good time exploring the coastline and spotting seals.
Vicki and Andy joined me on a kayak trip from Poolewe. We headed around the shoreline at Inverewe Garden, spotting seals and birds on route before finding a remote beach to have a brew on.
Caroline and David were back yet again, this time with Craig and Laura. Last year they’d all been out with me from Poolewe. It wasn’t quite as sunny or calm as Monday but it was still a great afternoon on the water, we had seals following us around for the whole trip.
Caroline and David joined me again this year on a super sunny and calm March afternoon. We explored the crystal clear water around the craggy coastline. The low tide gave us great views of starfish and urchins.
Jamie, Gail, Tommy, Leo and Felix met me to get out on the water. We headed out in a mixture of boats – canoes, sea kayak, sit on top kayak and little kayak.
Maryanne, Andrew, Evie and Poppy met me in Poolewe for an adventure on the water. They’ve got some inflatable boats, so we worked on a few paddling skills, had some fun and watched some wildlife, this included two otters frolicking in front of us at one point.
Jon, Kelly, Joe, Emma, Kellie, Isacc, Rubin and Dylan all met me again for another fun session on the water. They’d paddled with me a little over a year ago from near Poolewe. This time we had mirror like calm water to splash about on.
Louise, Olivier, William and Isla all met me for a morning kayaking. We had super still calm water to paddle on, not a breath of wind about.
Cameron, Rachael, Jean and Lorna joined me for a paddle from Gairloch harbour. We were out so that Cameron could film us as a promotional video for Visit Wester Ross. Cameron’s business is RedBeard Productions, a great little video production company.
Bob is completing the Haswell Smith islands of Scotland – a list of 168 islands above a certain size. His aim is to reach the high point on each of these islands. We paddled across and then headed up to the 73m high point at the north western end.
Karen, Alan, Wendy, Chris, Martin, Jane, Pete and June all joined me on a grey but beautifully calm morning. Not a ripple on the water as we paddled our way around the craggy coastline.
Suzanne and Brian joined me again, just over a year since the last time. We had hoped to get out on the water last week as well but the wind had different ideas. A lovely calm day and low tide meant we could spot lots of starfish, urchins and jellyfish.
Kate joined me on a very calm day amongst windy ones. When we stopped for a brew on a little island we had a seal come in very close to watch us, I think he fancied a hot chocolate!
Eddie, Alan, Colin and David met me on a calmer afternoon than it has been lately. It was a nice break in the weather to get out on the water. We had four seals putting on a display as we enjoyed our brew on a remote beach.
Sophia, Joe, Hilary and Carl all joined me for an afternoon kayaking. We headed out to improve our strokes and explore the area on the water.
Lucy and Russ joined me on the water from Poolewe. We headed out in the sea kayaks to explore the coastline and Boor rocks.
