Callum and Jess joined me on a very calm but wet morning. We explored the coastline around Inverewe garden, spotting birds and seals on the way.
Phil, Chris, Ash and Rose came along to have fun afternoon with me. The grey skies from the morning had gone and we ended up with bright blue skies and sunshine. Low tides mean it’s easy to spot wildlife under the water, so we had plenty of starfish to see.
Matt, Liz, William and Hannah all met me to enjoy a fun morning at Gairloch. As we paddled we learnt some skills, improved our skills, enjoyed the scenery and wildlife.
Gemma, David, Oliver and Isla joined me to kayak around the craggy coastline from Gairloch harbour. Despite the drizzle it was a super afternoon pottering about around the area.
Will, Alex, Tom and Anna joined me for a mornings kayaking at Gairloch. As we paddled around we had a few lovely jelly fish to watch.
Debora & Andrew moved to little loch Broom last year and have been keen to learn a bit more about sea kayaking and try it out. We had a session were we spent plenty of time chatting about kit and safety stuff as well as getting out and learning paddling skills.
Mikaela, Vicky, Bobby, Ashley, Matt and Nicolle joined me for a lively morning kayaking. The water was very still and calm, the same can’t be said for the the group! A very lively session with a lot of splashing into the water!
Toby, Anna, Arthur, Fred, Evie and Annabelle all met me for a fun afternoon of kayaking. The weather forecast had predicted some lightening but we decided to go ahead with the plan of hopping off the water for shelter if it arrived. As predicted it arrived and we sheltered off the water with a nice brew before jumping back on for more fun.
Lyndsay and Darren tried booking me last year but like a lot of people they left it too late – this year they planned ahead properly and managed to get a slot before I was fully booked up. We had super calm water to explore the coastline around Inverewe Garden.
John, Anne, Steve and Morven came canoeing with me from Poolewe. John has done quite a bit of canoeing in the past and wanted to have a trip out with the rest of them whist up here. They’d been out paddleboarding the day before with Charlie from ClimbRideExplore, so had already started getting used to paddling skills.
Tim, Jenni, Cara and Giles met me for some kayaking at Poolewe. They’re staying at the Gate Lodge at Inverewe, so it felt right to be paddling around the shore at Inverewe to see the garden from a different perspective.
Louise, Kerry, Emma and Sam joined me to explore the craggy coastline around Mellon Charles. We had a great paddle, spotting porpoise in the distance. Towards the end of the session my phone went off with a mountain rescue callout so a swift paddle back and a race off for me.
Fiona, Tom, Ben, Kirsty, Florence, Sophia, Emily and Cassie all met me for a fun filled morning on the water. We headed out in canoes to explore the calm water around the boom beach.
Dillon, Dawn, Scott and Kyle all met me for a fun afternoon. We headed out to learn some skills, see the sights and and play some games.
Matt, Jess, Ozzy, Erik and Gil met me for a fun morning paddling at Poolewe. Exploring the coastline and having fun was the order of the day.
Christine, Lily and Wilf met me for some fun kayaking in Poolewe. As we explored the craggy coastline around Inverewe Garden we learnt some skills, played some games and spotted wildlife.
Damien and Kirstin joined me in Poolewe. Damien had been out with me back in 2018, paddling over in Gairloch. It was a good morning exploring the coastline at Poolewe around Inverewe garden.
Kat, Jon, Callum and Euan came out with me last year, this year they dragged along Cathy, Declan, Iarlaith and Ruadhan to help celebrate Callum’s 9th birthday with me. A fun session in the sunshine was had by all. Since it was Callum’s birthday I thought a good way to celebrate it was to leave him on a tiny island – apparently it’s against kids rights to leave them on slightly submerged islands for any real length of time, so we collected him again.
